Install
/plugin install codex@openai-codexWho it's for
You already use Claude Code and want to start Codex from the current workflow: run a code review on the current work, or delegate a task to Codex. This is a plugin for Claude Code users, not a standalone Codex client tutorial.
Meet the runtime conditions first: you need a ChatGPT subscription (including Free) or an OpenAI API key; usage counts against the Codex quota. You also need Node.js 18.18 or later. Quota notes:

Without a subscription or key, or if Node is below 18.18, do not start installing.
The notes only write this install path inside Claude Code's /plugin flow. Do not extend it to unnamed agents, and do not add installers or directories that never appeared.
First try in 3 minutes
Official page:
https://github.com/openai/codex-plugin-cc
The recommended path follows the notes' three steps. Read them first, then run them, because each step changes Claude Code plugin state:
/plugin marketplace add openai/codex-plugin-cc
/plugin install codex@openai-codex
/reload-plugins
After reload, confirm codex@openai-codex appears in the plugin list. If any step fails, stop.
The first time, only check; do not delegate a task that would change code. On “current work” run the notes' ordinary Codex review: the review quality it gives should match running /review directly in Codex. Do not invent other slash commands.
Success signal: the plugin is reloaded and visible, and this review can give comments on the current changes at the same level as Codex /review. If it starts editing files or enters a delegate path the notes never wrote, stop it first.
Use cases
Case 1: Run a Codex review on the current work. After install and /reload-plugins, run “a normal Codex review on your current work” against the changes at hand. The check is: comment quality is close to running /review inside Codex. The notes do not write a slash command name for this review; do not invent one. They also do not promise it is read-only; if the agent wants to change files, confirm first, then continue.
Case 2: Delegate a task to Codex. The opening says you can delegate tasks to Codex, but visible text gives no delegate command, scope, or return path. If you try, first pick a reversible small task, have the agent say what it will call and whether it will change the repo, agree, then run it, and immediately check whether new changes appeared in the workspace. If the command name is missing, do not invent one.
Boundaries
Install is evidenced only as /plugin marketplace add openai/codex-plugin-cc, /plugin install codex@openai-codex, and /reload-plugins. Do not add other marketplaces or directories.
Runtime prerequisites are a ChatGPT subscription (including Free) or an API key, plus Node.js 18.18+; usage counts against the Codex quota.
Review is evidenced only as “run an ordinary Codex review on current work, quality same as /review”. Delegation is evidenced only as existing; there are no steps.
The notes give no language coverage and do not write clients other than Claude Code as official install. Keep undocumented items unknown.
