Install
npx skills@latest add warpdotdev/common-skills --skill '*' --agent warp --globalWho it's for
Use this repository when you have a reusable set of agent workflows, conventions, or operating procedures that help in more than one repository and need a shared place instead of being tied to a single repo. It stores “common across repositories” agent skills, not a project's private scripts.
Precondition: the current agent follows the notes and is Warp. The recommended install command includes --agent warp --global; do not rewrite this command for an unnamed other agent. A skill must truly help more than one repository; if only one repo needs it, do not force it into this shared library.
On the authoring side: each skill owns one directory under .agents/skills/, the required file is SKILL.md with YAML frontmatter, at least a kebab-case name, and a description that says what it does and when to use it. Do not invent other required fields.

Recommended install (--global changes this machine's global skills; confirm the repository and --agent warp before running):
npx skills@latest add warpdotdev/common-skills --skill '*' --agent warp --global
The notes do not say which directory npx writes to on disk. After install, return to Warp and see whether these common skills can be selected. Do not treat .agents/skills/ in the repository as the install path on your machine.
The first time, do not change shared skill contents, and do not fork. Pick one low-risk read-only task and let Warp decide from an installed skill's description whether it should use it.
Success signal: Warp shows the skills just installed, and the assistant decides whether to invoke by description. If the command fails, stop; do not drop --agent warp or switch to an installer that never appeared.
Use cases
Case 1: Install every common skill into Warp globally. Run the add ... --skill '*' --agent warp --global above. --skill '*' means the skill set in this shared library. After install, only check that Warp can select them; do not install a second unnamed copy at the same time.
Case 2: Later update already installed Warp skills. The notes' command is:
npx skills@latest update --global --agent warp
This also writes globally. Confirm the current Warp environment, then run it, then see whether the skills are still selectable. If a shared skill needs a repo-specific exception, the notes ask you to add a small local companion skill instead of forking the shared skill, unless the change helps every repository. Do not fork on the first update.
Boundaries
The main path is evidenced only for Warp: both add and update carry --agent warp --global. Do not apply them to other agents.
In-repo layout is evidenced only as .agents/skills/ and name / description on SKILL.md. Do not write that directory as npx's local install location.
Prefer copying only skills the repository truly needs; exceptions use a local companion, do not fork lightly.
The notes give no language coverage, pricing, or install commands for other agents. Keep undocumented items unknown.
