Claude Office Skills: turn office work into repeatable skills

For people who want Claude to handle office work with a fixed flow. First copy only contract-review into the official skills directory, and the first pass is a read-only check of a contract you already uploaded.

Install

mkdir -p ~/.config/claude-code/skills/
cp -r contract-review ~/.config/claude-code/skills/

Who it is for

Use this curated skill set when you want Claude to handle real office work with a customizable, repeatable flow, instead of improvising every time. Officially it is aimed at real office work and claims zero configuration; it also gives copy-into-place steps for Claude Code.

Prerequisite: you already have Claude Code locally, and you already have the contract-review directory from the repository. The notes do not name other skill folders; the first time, do not invent a name to copy.

The main install path is this one: copy contract-review into ~/.config/claude-code/skills/, then start claude; the skill loads automatically. Do not add skills add or another installer. The notes do not write how this set lands in other clients.

First try in 3 minutes

Official page:

https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills

First confirm contract-review is really in the current directory, then run (this writes to the local skills directory; check the path first):

mkdir -p ~/.config/claude-code/skills/
cp -r contract-review ~/.config/claude-code/skills/

Then start:

claude

If startup fails, stop. After success, do not change the contract text yet. Upload a contract you are allowed to view, and in natural language ask for a read-only check with the loaded contract-review: point out clause risks or vague spots only.

Success signal: the skill loaded automatically, and the answer is clearly organized by that skill's flow, not generic legal boilerplate. If it wants to edit files, save a new contract, or call an unexplained external send, stop it.

Usage examples

Example 1: Copy locally, then auto-load. Copy contract-review as above, start Claude Code, upload a contract, and do one read-only check. The notes say that after the skill loads it can repeat the work as you ask; the first time, only check, do not edit the original.

Example 2: Call it on the spot with the raw SKILL.md address. The notes give this sentence: Please use this skill: then that file address, then upload the contract. The address is on its own line:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/claude-office-skills/skills/main/contract-review/SKILL.md

This step is still a read-only check. Do not glue the address onto punctuation at the end of a sentence.

Limits

The main path is only: copy contract-review to ~/.config/claude-code/skills/ and start claude. Do not invent other skill names, and do not add skills add.

The other call method is evidenced only to the raw SKILL.md address above. The set also writes that it provides 39 office-document tools through MCP, and for PDF it writes Extract, merge, split, compress, watermark, forms, OCR; but the notes give no install command for that service. The first time, do not install it yourself.

The notes do not write billing, language scope, or a roster of other skill folders. Items without a basis stay unknown; do not invent operations.
