claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-pluginsWho it is for
This fits knowledge workers who want Claude as an expert for a role, team, or company setting, instead of writing prompts from scratch each time. The official repository says these open-source plugins are mainly for knowledge workers in Claude Cowork, also work in Claude Code, and turn Claude into an expert aimed at roles, teams, and companies.
It fits people who already have a clear role task (for example sales-call prep or drafting a data query) and want a skill to fire on its own after install, or to start with a slash command. It does not fit people looking for a programmable backend or self-built infrastructure: every component is file-based Markdown and JSON, with no code, no infrastructure, and no build step.
Before you start you must be able to reach the matching install entry. Claude Code uses the claude plugin command from the repository; Cowork users use the official plugins page. Do not mix the two paths.
First try in 3 minutes
Use only the Claude Code main path named in the repository. Finish install and confirm the commands are visible before you decide whether to run them.
Prerequisites: the current environment can already run Claude Code. The first time, do not operate against a real customer roster or production data.
Install location: in a Claude Code session, add the marketplace first, then install the sales plugin as in the repository example.
claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
claude plugin install sales@knowledge-work-plugins
Official repository:
https://github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
Low-risk trigger: after install, do not yet run actions that might change files or look up data outside. First watch whether the plugin activates on its own, and look in the current session for /sales:call-prep. Officially: once installed, the plugin activates automatically; skills fire when relevant; slash commands appear in the session, with examples including /sales:call-prep and /data:write-query.
Success signal: you can see those slash commands in the session. Only after the commands appear should you consider running /sales:call-prep. Before you run it, confirm which materials it will touch; if it might write or send outward, check locally first, then continue.
If you use Cowork, do not apply the claude plugin commands above. Officially you install from this address:
https://claude.com/plugins/
How to click after that page, and what success looks like, is not step-by-step in the repository; the evidence stops at “install from that page.”
Usage examples
Example 1: Sales-call prep. The repository lists /sales:call-prep as a slash command available after install, and gives sales@knowledge-work-plugins as the sample install target. It fits people who already have a call counterpart or meeting context and want prep materials organized in a sales-role way. The evidence only shows that this command enters the session; it does not say which files it reads or whether it rewrites documents. Confirm the command appears, then decide whether to run it; if you run it, check the output first and do not send unchecked content to a customer.
Example 2: Drafting a data query. The repository also lists /data:write-query. It fits people who need to draft query statements the way a data role would. The evidence only goes as far as “the command is available”; it does not say which data source it connects to, or whether it actually runs the query. Treat it as a helper for writing queries, not as an execute switch on a production database; any step that might send data out or land in a database must be confirmed first.
Limits
Officially the components are guaranteed only as file-based Markdown and JSON, with no code, infrastructure, or build step. Do not treat this as a project that needs compiling or deploying.
Do not mix install paths. The official Claude Code steps are claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins, then claude plugin install sales@knowledge-work-plugins. The official Cowork step is to open
https://claude.com/plugins/
Do not extend the marketplace command to the side that only documents a web install.
The plugins and commands named in the repository are only sales@knowledge-work-plugins, /sales:call-prep, and /data:write-query. Do not invent other plugin names, skill paths, or slash commands.
“Skills fire when relevant” is official wording, but no trigger-word table is given. The first time, treat the appearance of the slash commands as the success signal. Product pages are official pointers only:
