mastra-ai/skills: official skills for Mastra TypeScript development

For people who will build Mastra AI apps to official guidance; install with the npx primary command and first do a read-only check of an existing TypeScript project.

Install

npx skills add mastra-ai/skills

Who this is for

Fits people who will write AI apps or agents with the Mastra framework and want a coding assistant to follow official skills. Official text: these are formal skills for agents that use the Mastra framework. Mastra is a framework for building AI apps and agents on a modern TypeScript stack. Framework site:

https://mastra.ai/

Better fit: people who already have a TypeScript / Mastra project, or who are about to develop with the official comprehensive skill. The source describes the contents as a “single comprehensive skill” that covers later topics with progressive disclosure and reference files; this section does not name those reference files.

Before starting, you must be able to run npx skills add. Do not switch the primary path to another unverified installer.

Finish a first try in 3 minutes

Follow only the primary install command given in the repository. The first try is a read-only check; do not generate a new production agent yet.

Precondition: this machine already has npm/npx, and you have your own TypeScript project or Mastra code you are about to initialize. Do not invent an example repository URL.

Install location: run in the workspace:

npx skills add mastra-ai/skills

Official repository:

https://github.com/mastra-ai/skills

Low-risk trigger: after install, have the assistant check your existing Mastra code structure against this comprehensive skill, only say which official lines it will consult, and do not change files yet. If the assistant starts creating a new agent or writing network calls, first confirm the side effects.

Success: the skill is added, the assistant discusses Mastra development as a “single comprehensive skill”, and no unconfirmed files were written. If the skill does not appear, first check that the install command is complete; do not switch to an unnamed package.

Usage cases

Case 1: Run a Mastra development check inside an existing TypeScript project. Use the official comprehensive skill. Fits people who already have an app skeleton and want to fill in agent capabilities by the formal skill. Evidence only mentions progressive disclosure and reference files; it does not name the files. Check first, then decide whether to change code.

Case 2: Discover via .well-known. Mastra also supports that discovery standard; the official extra command is as follows.

npx skills add https://mastra.ai/

The repository serves skills through an RFC 8615 Well-Known URI:

https://mastra.ai/.well-known/skills/

Standard notes:

https://github.com/cloudflare/agent-skills-discovery-rfc

Fits people who want to discover skills from the framework site. This is a second install path; do not mix it with the primary command in the same operation. Evidence does not write which files land after discovery.

Usage limits

The primary install command is npx skills add mastra-ai/skills. The .well-known path is extra, not the default first try.

The source only describes a “single comprehensive skill” and does not name a skill folder. Do not invent a skills/ path or reference file names.

These are official skills on a TypeScript framework; there are no install steps for other languages and no exclusive assistant set.

Do not invent URLs beyond the extra docs; outside the framework site and the repository page, use only the discovery address and RFC link from the source.
