Install
claude plugin install stripe@claude-plugins-officialWho it is for
This skill fits when you are building an agent-capable product on Stripe and want the agent to write and check the integration using current practice. The repository positions itself as a one-stop entry for building AI products on Stripe and offers a set of Agent Skills so the agent uses current methods more accurately. Official recommended install is only the Claude plugin path; do not treat other install methods as interchangeable main paths. The materials do not name a client roster beyond the Claude plugin command, and they do not write the support scope as exclusive. If you do not plan to use Stripe, or this time you only want another payment channel, do not install it yet.
It is for people who already have a Stripe account and a code repository and need the agent to build or check an integration from the skill notes. It is not for people who have no Stripe objects yet and want to experiment with live charges.
First try in 3 minutes
Use only this official install command:
claude plugin install stripe@claude-plugins-official
Prerequisites: this machine can already run the claude plugin command. This pass is a read-only check only: no real payments, no writing secrets.
The install location is the Stripe skill set installed by that Claude plugin. Do not add a second install command beside it.
In an agent that already supports this plugin, start a low-risk task: ask it to check existing Stripe integration notes or code in the repository against current practice in the Stripe skills, list the gaps only, change no files, and call no APIs that would incur charges.
Success signal: the agent clearly gives checkable practice points from the Stripe skills and does not start a real charge. If the plugin did not install, stop at this official command; do not switch to an install method that is not the main path. The materials do not write a test-mode switch or secret-configuration steps.
Usage examples
Example 1: use the skill to check whether an existing integration matches current practice. Give the agent existing checkout or billing-related code and ask for a gap list only. The evidence covers "use the skill to help the agent build from latest practice", but it does not give checklist fields. Anything beyond that must stop at "can point out practice differences from the skill".
Example 2: when adding a new Stripe capability, have the agent first organize implementation steps from the skill, then change code only after you confirm. The evidence says these skills are for building faster and more accurately on Stripe, but it does not name a specific product API or code template. If the agent wants to write files or call a remote API, confirm the side-effect scope first. The repository also mentions a remote MCP and OAuth access hosted at
https://mcp.stripe.com
That is not the install path for this skill. Do not mix it into the same step as the plugin install.
Limits
The main path is only claude plugin install stripe@claude-plugins-official. The materials also mention that manually installed skills do not update automatically, but that is not the recommended path this time; do not put it beside the plugin install. The skill addresses "build from Stripe's current practice" and does not give a specific API roster, test card numbers, or secret locations. The first try should stop at a read-only check. Even if the remote MCP address appears, it cannot replace this skill install command. Do not treat other entries in the repository as a second skill path that must be installed at the same time.
