Blender Agent Bridge
A scene-aware MCP bridge for Blender that inspects the scene, gathers visual evidence, and makes reversible edits
About Blender Agent Bridge
Blender Agent Bridge is a combination of a Blender add-on and a local MCP server that lets MCP-capable clients such as Codex, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor inspect the currently open Blender scene, gather visual evidence, and make reversible edits. It offers read-only inspection of objects, materials, animation, rigging, cameras, nodes, render settings, and .blend file health; the local bridge is off by default and bound to 127.0.0.1, optional Bearer authentication is available, and third-party generation providers are all optional. The project source code and release ZIP are open source under GNU GPL v3 or later.

After explicitly enabling session trust, let agents run Blender Python scripts
Gather visual evidence and make reversible preview edits
Opt into hosted generation providers as needed and review the cost estimate before submitting
Features
Read-only scene inspection
Inspect objects, materials, animation, rigging, cameras, nodes, render settings, and .blend file health.
Reversible edits and visual evidence
Make reversible edits to the current scene and gather visual evidence.
Script execution gated by session trust
Blender Python runs only after you explicitly enable session trust.
Optional generation providers
Turning off third-party uploads disables hosted generation without affecting scene inspection, preview edits, rendering, Poly Haven, local TripoSR, and more.
Pros
- The local bridge is off by default and bound to 127.0.0.1, with optional Bearer authentication
- Supports reversible edits; changes can be rolled back
- Third-party generation providers are optional; turning off third-party uploads disables hosted generation
- Source code and release ZIP are open source under GPL-3.0-or-later
Cons
- Requires Blender 4.2.0 or newer
- Without the optional Bearer authentication enabled, any client that can reach the local bridge can call its tools
