For problems with a definite answer, the engine substitutes the answer back into the original problem or runs a numerical check at several points, and only marks the result Verified when that check passes — the engine does not grade itself. Word problems and proof problems cannot be fully verified by a computer, so those answers are marked Not independently verified and users are advised to read them once more. The site includes calculators for derivatives, fractions, quadratic equations, statistics and more; a free account gets the answer and the first step of the solution, with no daily usage limit.
