Megaphone
Free, open-source on-device dictation and smart polishing tool for Mac
About Megaphone
Megaphone is a free, open-source Mac dictation app for macOS 26 and Apple silicon. It starts dictation at the current cursor and uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Model to answer, rewrite, or organize text within the original app; Smart Cleanup uses Apple’s on-device language model and provides an immediate deterministic fallback. Users can maintain an on-device dictionary, while Screen Awareness reads the current app and window title locally to adjust vocabulary and tone. SpeechTranscriber reports 30 locales on this Mac.
