The limits of customer follow-up in Notbot: what happens after 24 hours?

Teams preparing to move sales and support to Notbot should first verify template-based follow-up after 24 hours, human handoff, and chat record management. The official API does not replace permission to contact people, nor does it guarantee an account will never face restrictions.

Notbot brings WhatsApp bots, broadcasts, CRM, and a shared inbox into one dashboard. Sales and support teams planning to move customer follow-up there should verify next-day follow-up and human handoff before deciding whether to migrate. The website can show which entry points are available, but cannot prove that every message will arrive. This article examines those limits using official pages.

After 24 hours, the follow-up process changes

Notbot’s website describes a 24-hour reply window and the ability to send pre-approved templates outside it. WhatsApp’s official policy adds that a customer message opens the window and each new customer message resets it; outside the window, only approved templates may be sent.

Imagine a customer asks for a price at 10 a.m. on Monday and sends no further messages, while the salesperson only receives the quote at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. This is an analytical scenario, not a hands-on test. By then, 25 hours have passed since the customer’s last message. The team should first check whether an appropriate approved template exists, rather than designing Tuesday’s action as a free-form reply. Setting “waiting for quote” as a task, preparing relevant templates in advance, and walking through a follow-up after the window expires in a demo are better ways to judge fit with existing operations than looking only at instant bot responses.

Broadcasts have another prerequisite: having contact details does not mean having permission to make contact. WhatsApp’s policy requires recipients’ consent and respect for opt-out requests. Before importing an existing customer list, the team should therefore be able to explain where consent came from and how opting out prevents subsequent sends. These are checks to perform before launch, not a claim that Notbot has been verified to handle them automatically.

A shared inbox does not mean the handoff process is already in place

Notbot describes multiple people collaborating through one number and says chats are saved to the CRM. WhatsApp permits automated replies within the reply window while requiring prompt, clear, direct escalation paths, such as a human handoff, phone, or email.

Ask the demonstrator to take a pricing inquiry the bot cannot answer through the entire process: who sees the pending item, who is responsible for responding, and how the customer finds other support channels. Then check who can view chat records, how long they are retained, and how they can be deleted or exported. These data management details could not be confirmed from the Notbot homepage accessible for this review. That does not mean the features do not exist, but it is also insufficient grounds for promising data governance capabilities. Until written explanations are available, use fictional customer information for trials.

Before adoption, turn promises into verifiable conditions

Notbot’s homepage links the official API to reliable delivery and promotes verified accounts as removing worries about bans. WhatsApp’s policy nevertheless reserves the right to restrict or remove access to its services for violations. Vendor marketing therefore cannot be treated as a guarantee that an account will not be restricted.

If the team mainly handles customer-initiated inquiries, can take over within the window, and is willing to maintain templates and records of permission to contact people, Notbot is worth evaluating in a demo. If everyday sales depend on free-form replies across days, or the team must first establish how chat data is retained and exported, keep existing channels and migrate only after those conditions have been verified. Pilot acceptance criteria should be whether expired conversations can continue within the rules, whether someone takes over difficult issues, and whether records can be handled as agreed, rather than merely whether one message was successfully sent.
