Why Robly OpenGen’s two-day gap can shrink to just 25 hours
When scheduling OpenGen resends for infrequent email campaigns, calculate the gap from Robly AI’s latest first-round delivery. With a 23-hour window, resending two days after launch leaves only 25 hours between the latest first delivery and the second round’s start. Avoid enabling it by default for tight deadlines or frequent sends.
Is an unopened campaign email worth sending again? Robly’s OpenGen resends to contacts who did not open it the first time, while Robly AI spreads deliveries across a defined window. For teams that send infrequently, the key calculation before combining them is how much time actually separates the two emails for readers.
Two switches, one timeline
According to Robly’s help documentation, the AI sending window sets the latest permitted delivery time after you click Send. Contacts with insufficient historical information, or a predicted time outside the window, receive the email at the window’s end. A longer window therefore also pushes back the latest receipt.
OpenGen’s setup documentation recommends a gap of at least two days and explicitly says to account for the full AI delivery window. Those “two days” do not automatically give every recipient two days of breathing room.
Suppose the first round starts on Monday at 09:00 with a 23-hour AI window. Its latest delivery is Tuesday at 08:00. If the resend is scheduled for Wednesday at 09:00, recipients who got the first email late have only 25 hours before the second round starts: 48 minus 23. This is a scheduling example calculated from the window, not an actual delivery test, and it does not mean everyone receives the second email when that round starts.
If the team wants at least 48 hours between the latest first-round receipt and the second round’s start, it should schedule the second round for Thursday at 08:00 or later. The calculation is “first-round start + first-round window + desired gap.” This is a conservative scheduling method, not a fixed interval Robly requires for every campaign.
First decide whether a resend still fits
This calculation changes the choice for time-limited campaigns. If an offer expires on Wednesday evening, a later resend may no longer serve its purpose, while an earlier one gives readers less time to respond. You can shorten the first-round window or send only the first round. Do not extend an offer already promised publicly merely to make room for automation.
Sending frequency is another boundary. A separate official Robly help page explicitly says senders sending more than twice a week are not permitted to use OpenGen. Check your campaign cadence first rather than making resends the default for every email. This article analyzes scheduling from public documentation; it does not promise higher open rates or sales.
Review the resend as a separate decision
After enabling OpenGen in the campaign’s sending options, set the second round’s subject line, date and time. You can phrase the subject differently, but the offer terms and deadline should still match the actual campaign. The official documentation also says you can edit the subject and content of an OpenGen campaign once it has been generated, but not its recipients. If the target audience has changed, do not simply edit the body and proceed with sending.
Finally, avoid judging the combination’s effectiveness immediately after the first round starts. Robly AI’s documentation notes a 24-hour reporting delay and recommends waiting at least 48 hours, preferably 72, after the initial send for a full assessment. Confirm that the entire sending window has ended, then examine clicks and actual business outcomes. More opens alone do not establish that another email was worthwhile.
For emails that meet the frequency requirements and remain relevant long enough, OpenGen can handle a spaced follow-up. The habit to establish is recalculating the resend schedule from the latest delivery time each time, rather than mechanically choosing “two days later.”
