Palmier Pro
A macOS video editor with timeline-native AI generation, Palmier chat, and MCP access for connected agents.
About Palmier Pro
Palmier Pro is a macOS video editor that places AI media generation and agent-assisted editing inside a conventional multi-track timeline. Creators can import their own footage, generate images, video, and audio, then trim, split, reorder, transform, and export without shuttling assets between a generation website and a separate editor. Generated clips retain their prompt, reference images, and first- and last-frame settings, which makes variations easier to inspect and replace in context. Palmier chat can create assets and place them on the timeline from plain-language instructions, while the built-in MCP server lets compatible agents such as Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, and Claude Desktop read the project and perform edits. The editor, local transcription, smart footage search, MCP access, and export are free without an account; paid credits cover AI generation and cloud transcription. Projects, media, prompts, and edits stay on the device, although inputs chosen for AI features are forwarded to external providers. The current desktop release requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later, so teams on older macOS versions or other operating systems cannot adopt it directly.
Best for
Best use cases
Build a multi-track cut while generating missing shots directly on the timeline
Create variations with reference images and first- and last-frame controls
Let a connected agent organize, generate, and edit media with full project context
Compare before choosing
Unlike separate generation platforms, Palmier Pro keeps generation, iteration, and finishing in the same timeline project
Unlike a cloud-only workflow, regular editing and project storage remain local on the Mac
Compared with broad desktop editors, adoption depends on macOS 26 and its available AI providers and credit system
Features
Generate and finish AI video in one timeline
Create images, video, and audio in the media panel or timeline, combine them with imported footage, refine the edit, and export a finished cut without a separate generation workflow.
Iterate on generated shots in context
Use prompts, reference images, resolution, duration, aspect ratio, and first- and last-frame controls, then regenerate or swap clips while preserving the surrounding edit.
Delegate timeline work through MCP
Connect Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, or Claude Desktop so an agent can inspect project context, generate assets, place them on the timeline, and perform common clip edits.
Pros
- Timeline-native generation removes repeated downloading and importing between AI services and the editor.
- The free editor includes MCP, local transcription, smart search, and export without requiring an account.
- Local project storage keeps ordinary editing work on the Mac while still allowing optional cloud AI requests.
Cons
- The current app requires macOS 26 or later, excluding Windows, Linux, and older Mac systems.
- AI generation and the more accurate cloud transcription model require paid monthly credits.
- Prompts and reference media selected for AI features are forwarded to external providers with provider-specific retention policies.
