PoweReader
A native RSS reader for iPhone and Mac with optional AI summaries, inline translation, audio narration, Daily Picks, and iCloud sync.
About PoweReader
PoweReader is a native RSS reader for iPhone and Mac. It offers a built-in feed service and connects to Feedbin, FreshRSS, Miniflux, NewsBlur, Fever, and TinyTinyRSS. Free features include RSS reading, subscriptions, search, saved articles, full-text viewing, and OPML import and export. Premium adds AI summaries, story clustering through Daily Picks, podcast-style audio summaries, inline translation, iCloud sync, offline image caching, and private on-device summaries with MLX on Apple Silicon. The subscription includes 100 cloud AI actions each month. A successful article summary, audio summary, list summary, or Daily Picks generation uses one action; translation is counted separately by character. On-device summaries do not use the cloud quota. PoweReader therefore suits Apple users who want a native feed workflow with AI available when useful, while keeping ordinary RSS reading independent of the subscription.

Pros
- Core RSS reading, search, saving, and subscriptions remain free for ongoing use.
- The app supports a built-in RSS service and several external services, reducing migration friction.
- On-device summaries on supported Apple hardware do not consume the monthly cloud AI quota.
Cons
- The native app workflow is limited to iPhone and Mac users.
- Premium cloud summaries, audio, list summaries, and Daily Picks share a limit of 100 actions per month.
- On-device AI requires a recent iPhone or an Apple Silicon Mac, so older hardware cannot use that private offline path.
