The Best Free Online Resume Builder
Build, edit, and customize resumes and cover letters online with guided writing, templates, and free TXT downloads.
About The Best Free Online Resume Builder
Resume Builder is an online workspace for creating resumes and cover letters from a phone, tablet, or computer. Its workflow combines an AI resume builder, expert writing suggestions, a built-in editor, customizable sections, and a large library of resume examples and templates. Free users can create and edit a resume and download the content as a TXT file. People who need broader formatting and customization can use the premium subscription, which includes unlimited customization and more than 60 resume designs. Cover letter tools add templates and job-specific writing support, so the same service can support both major documents in an application. The practical trade-off is export format: TXT is available without a paid plan, while the richer premium workflow begins with a $2.95, 14-day Full Access trial. This makes the service useful for job seekers who want guided writing and design choices in one browser-based process, but anyone who only needs a polished download should account for the subscription path after the trial.
Best for
Best use cases
Starting a new resume with structured prompts and templates when a blank document would slow down the writing process.
Reworking an existing resume for a target role by changing sections, phrasing, and the visual design in one editor.
Preparing a resume and a tailored cover letter together before submitting an application for a specific position.
Compare before choosing
Compared with a plain word processor, Resume Builder adds guided writing, templates, examples, and dedicated resume sections.
The free route supports TXT downloads, while richer premium customization follows a $2.95, 14-day Full Access trial.
Its combined resume and cover letter workflow reduces tool switching, although users who need only basic text export may not need premium access.
