Install
/plugin marketplace add kaankiziltug/logo-design-skill && /plugin install logo-design@logo-design-skillWho It's For
- Developers and independent creators who need logo design for a new project or product: this Claude Skill turns Claude into a disciplined logo designer, taking you from the initial design brief all the way to production-ready SVG files and brand guidelines.
- Anyone who wants a process-constrained design workflow rather than one-shot random graphics: its built-in workflow pauses at key checkpoints to let you confirm the direction before producing the full deliverables.
- When it's not a fit: it's aimed at logo and identity design, not general-purpose drawing or image editing. It requires Claude (Claude Code or a Claude environment that supports uploading Skills) as its runtime; the evidence does not state that it can run standalone or in other agents, nor does it specify supported input languages or file formats — please verify these unknowns before use.
First Attempt in 3 Minutes
The recommended main path is installing via the official plugin marketplace in Claude Code:
- Prerequisites: Claude Code installed, plus Python 3.8+ (the skill's test tooling relies only on the standard library). PNG/ICO export additionally requires any available renderer:
cairosvg,rsvg-convert, Inkscape, Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave), or macOS Quick Look; without a renderer, export capabilities are limited. - Install: run the two official commands in Claude Code, in order:
/plugin marketplace add kaankiziltug/logo-design-skill
/plugin install logo-design@logo-design-skill
- Trigger a first low-risk task: ask Claude for a pure analysis and concept-direction task, e.g. "Use the logo-design skill to propose 3 logo concept directions for my open-source CLI tool." The concept design stage doesn't touch your files, making it observable and safe to abandon at any time.
- Success signal: the skill stops at its built-in checkpoint, shows a concept overview image with one recommended direction, and asks whether you want the full suite — it won't produce anything else until you pick a direction. Seeing this overview and recommendation means the skill loaded correctly and entered its workflow.
If you use Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, the official path is different: upload the skill zip package to Settings → Capabilities → Skills; if the size is limited, use logo-design-lite.zip (without the SVG files themselves). Claude Code also supports a manual route: clone the repository and copy skills/logo-design into ~/.claude/skills/logo-design (personal) or .claude/skills/logo-design inside the project (per-project). These are secondary paths and shouldn't be mixed with the plugin marketplace install.
Use Cases
Case 1: Explore logo directions for a new product. Ask Claude Code: "Use the logo-design skill to propose several logo concepts for a to-do app, and give your recommendation." The skill generates concept directions per its principles and workflow, stops at the checkpoint, and presents the options in an overview image with a recommendation. What you confirm is only the direction itself; if none satisfy you, you can simply abandon it with no file changes.
Case 2: Get deliverable files from a chosen direction. After replying with your concept choice at the checkpoint, the skill continues to build the full suite (production-ready SVG files and brand guidelines), and its test tooling can check the designs. Note: for the concept-to-SVG step, the evidence only confirms that "the skill produces SVG files and brand guidelines"; it does not specify which file paths are written or whether you need to designate an output location. Before letting it run, ask Claude in the session where the output will go.
Usage Boundaries
- Side effects and confirmation points: the built-in checkpoint is an explicit confirmation point — the full suite is not generated until a direction is chosen. The full suite includes SVG files and brand guidelines, but the evidence does not state whether these files are written directly to disk or where, nor whether command execution or network access is involved; all of these behaviors are unknown. Rely on the actual prompts in your Claude session and confirm each one.
- Runtime prerequisites: Claude Code uses the plugin marketplace; Claude.ai / Claude Desktop requires manually uploading the zip package, and the full package may exceed upload limits, requiring the lite version. PNG/ICO export depends on an external renderer; without one, those exports are unavailable.
- Officially stated limitations: requires Python 3.8+; the lite version does not include the SVG files themselves.
- Key information not yet confirmed: which text/input languages are supported, whether it works outside the Claude platforms listed in the official docs, and whether the upload-installed functionality is identical to the plugin install — none of these has official documentation. Don't assume.
