About Bito

Bito brings codebase-aware technical design and automated code review into tools engineering teams already use. It connects code, commits, documents, issues, and earlier decisions, giving reviews and coding agents more system context than a single-file assistant. Reviews run in GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, supported IDEs, or the CLI. AI Architect adds cross-repository dependency and impact information, which is useful when a change crosses service boundaries. Cost depends on both seats and volume. Paid code-review tiers include 5,000 reviewed lines per seat each month, then charge $5 for every additional 1,000 lines. Professional adds custom guidelines, document integrations, CI/CD reviews, and optional self-hosting. Enterprise adds on-premises deployment, SSO, SAML, and custom governance. Bito says it neither stores code nor uses it for model training, and it reports SOC 2 Type II certification. Orchestra, the autonomous workflow for cross-service changes, remains in closed beta, which limits immediate availability.

Best for

Engineering teams that want automated review in existing Git and IDE workflows without moving code into a separate review interface.
Organizations with several repositories that need system context to identify dependency and blast-radius risks before merge.
Security-conscious companies that need self-hosted or on-premises deployment, SSO, SAML, and defined support arrangements.

Best use cases

A pull request touches a shared API, so reviewers need dependency context and a concise summary before approving the change.

A developer wants line-level feedback on local or staged work inside the IDE before opening a pull request.

A planned migration spans services and repositories, requiring a system map that connects code, documentation, issues, and prior decisions.

Compare before choosing

Compared with file-only assistants, Bito can ground review feedback in codebase and cross-repository context, depending on the selected plan.

Compared with a flat subscription, Team and Professional combine per-seat fees with a reviewed-line allowance and metered overage charges.

Compared with cloud-only review tools, higher tiers add self-hosted or on-premises deployment, but those options cost more or require custom pricing.

Features

Pull request review

Review changes in GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket with codebase context, summaries, issue detection, and suggestions that developers can apply from the review workflow.

In-IDE review

Check local changes, staged files, commits, or selected paths inside VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Cursor, or Windsurf before code reaches a pull request.

Cross-repository planning

Use AI Architect context to map services, dependencies, code, documents, and past decisions when technical designs or changes span several repositories.

Pros

  • Works in major Git providers, supported IDEs, and the CLI, reducing context switching during review.
  • Codebase and cross-repository context can expose dependency and impact risks that file-only analysis may miss.
  • Higher tiers offer self-hosted or on-premises deployment plus SSO and SAML for stricter security requirements.

Cons

  • Paid review tiers combine per-seat charges with line-based overages, making high-volume costs less predictable.
  • The 5,000 reviewed-line monthly allowance per seat may be restrictive for teams with frequent or large pull requests.
  • Self-hosting costs extra on Professional, while on-premises deployment and advanced governance require custom Enterprise pricing.
