About Blanc Browser
Blanc is a free, minimalist desktop browser with built-in blocking of ads and known trackers, which can be toggled per site. Web pages run in the Chromium sandbox, isolated from the browser and local files; the browser removes the extension runtime entirely, eliminating extension-related risks at the architectural level. In the privacy settings, search suggestions and usage statistics are initially enabled, but no data is sent until you save your choices, and both can be turned off; sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted. The paid Patron subscription supports development and unlocks named workspaces, which let you save multiple sets of tabs and groups and switch between them at any time.

Features
Ad and Tracker Blocking
Ads and known trackers are blocked by default, and individual sites can be toggled on or off as needed.
Chromium Sandbox Isolation
Web pages run in the Chromium sandbox, isolated from the browser and local files; the browser's own pages run on a privileged internal scheme that regular web content cannot link into, and the caller is re-verified on every internal request.
No Extension Runtime
Blanc has completely removed the extension runtime, architecturally eliminating the risks posed by privileged third-party code.
End-to-End Encrypted Sync
Sync is optional, and data is encrypted on the device; the passphrase is never stored or sent, and the retained key is wrapped by the operating system's credential service.
Secure Enclave Passkeys
On Macs that support Touch ID, Blanc creates device-bound passkeys in the Apple Secure Enclave, and the private key never leaves the chip.
Verifiable Releases
Every release ships with a SHA256SUMS manifest covering all build artifacts, a Sigstore bundle certifying that manifest, a software bill of materials, and platform signatures (Apple Developer ID on macOS, Authenticode on Windows).
Built-in Mahjong Mini-Game
A built-in mahjong game: eight boards, a Daily deal that rotates each day, and records saved only on your device.
No Built-in AI
No built-in AI assistant, copilot, or page summarizer.
