Butterfly
Portable whole-body ultrasound paired with cloud software, clinical training, and optional advanced imaging and AI tools.
About Butterfly
Butterfly pairs a portable whole-body ultrasound probe with connected software for point-of-care scanning. Individual buyers choose iQ3 or iQ+ hardware, then add a software membership. The iQ3 costs $3,899 and has a three-year warranty. The iQ+ costs $2,699 and has a one-year warranty. Core Technology is $299 per year for one user. It includes more than 20 clinical applications, unlimited cloud storage, M-Mode, Color Doppler, on-demand videos, and Butterfly Academy courses. Advanced Technology costs $420 per year, or $1,500 as a one-time payment with five years of guaranteed software access. Advanced adds Power Doppler, Pulsed-Wave Doppler, iQ Slice, iQ Fan, Biplane, Needle Viz, automatic bladder volume, and automatic B-line tools. Probe hardware is charged separately. Online buying limits also matter: annual memberships allow up to two probes, while the one-time Advanced option allows one.

For a procedure or lung scan, an Advanced member uses Doppler or a named imaging tool such as Needle Viz or iQ Fan.
While learning POCUS, a user follows on-demand videos and Butterfly Academy courses alongside hands-on scanning.
