Letta
Build persistent AI agents that remember context, learn over time, schedule work, and connect to tools and devices.
About Letta
Letta is a platform for building stateful AI agents whose memory, identity, and capabilities persist and develop through use. Teams can create personalized agents with custom skills, tools, and harness modifications, then communicate with them through Slack, Discord, Telegram, or custom channels. Agents can schedule work, review past runs, and connect to a device, sandbox, or virtual machine as a remote environment. MemFS tracks context such as skills and prompts with Git, while sleep-time compute supports learning outside an active conversation. Letta also supports multiple model routes and lets users bring API keys or compatible subscription plans. It covers both personal agents and API-based team applications. Costs depend on the plan, model tokens, active agents, tool-execution time, and overage usage, so workloads with heavy tool calls or long coding sessions need careful budget monitoring.
Best for
Best use cases
Use the Free plan for small experiments with your own API keys
Choose Pro for regular chat or limited coding workloads
Use the API Plan when agent count and programmatic access matter
Compare before choosing
Free limits agents and Letta Auto usage
Pro includes quotas but charges overage after limits
API pricing adds active-agent, tool-time, and model-usage charges
Features
Persistent personal agents
Create agents that retain identity, memory, skills, and working context across sessions.
Scheduled and proactive work
Run recurring tasks, monitor results, and inspect previous scheduled runs.
Team agent applications
Build API-backed agent services with unlimited agents and usage-based infrastructure charges.
Pros
- The Free plan supports low-cost evaluation before a subscription.
- Persistent memory can move across supported models without forcing users to rebuild agent context.
- Slack, Discord, Telegram, custom channels, schedules, and remote devices cover varied operating workflows.
Cons
- Free access limits both agent capacity and Letta Auto usage.
- Pro overage and API usage charges make the final monthly bill workload-dependent.
- Heavy coding, computer use, or many parallel agents can consume quota quickly and may exceed $100 to $200 per month.
