About Local
Local is a local AI assistant that runs on Mac: with no cloud or account, every request is completed on your device at zero cost per token. It answers questions and helps with writing; import a PDF to generate a summary. Point it to a project to read, edit, and run code in place without uploading the codebase. Meetings can be transcribed on the device with speakers labeled. Memory stays on the device and is not sent to cloud providers. After downloading the app and models, you can use it fully offline, and it automatically selects a model suited to your memory. You can also use your own API key to call cloud models, but cloud models are disabled when Privacy Mode is enabled.
