nodeterm

Manage terminals and AI coding agents on an infinite canvas, with persistent sessions you can resume anywhere.

Last Updated 11/2/2026

About nodeterm

nodeterm turns terminals, AI coding agents, editors, and notes into nodes on a zoomable infinite canvas for drag-and-drop layouts and project overviews. Claude, Codex, and Gemini run as live nodes, with badges showing agent status in real time and subagents expanding on the canvas as they appear. Connect two Claude nodes so they can read each other's context on demand, or branch a conversation into a new node without losing the original thread. Terminals run in persistent tmux sessions, restoring processes and running agents after a restart. Projects can switch to a board view where each card is a live session that opens into a real terminal; pair a phone to continue the same session on mobile; hold a shortcut to control the terminal by voice, with speech processed by on-device Whisper and kept on the device.

Best for

Developers who use AI coding agents such as Claude, Codex, and Gemini together
Independent developers who need to manage multiple terminals and parallel tasks
Technical users who want to continue development sessions seamlessly between desktop and phone

Best use cases

Run multiple terminals and AI agents in parallel on one canvas to see the whole project at a glance

Let multiple AI agents read each other's context on demand, or branch a conversation into a new node to try another approach

Restore terminal processes and running agents after restarting the computer and continue from where you left off

Check and operate running development sessions from your phone after leaving your desk

Features

Infinite canvas

Pan and zoom an infinite canvas, drag terminals into place, and group them by project to keep the whole project in view without hunting through stacked tabs.

Live agent nodes

Claude, Codex, and Gemini run as live nodes; RUNNING or NEEDS YOU badges show who is busy in real time, and subagents expand automatically when created.

Context links

Draw an edge between two Claude nodes so they can read each other's context on demand; you can also branch a conversation into a new node without losing the original thread.

Persistent tmux sessions

Every terminal lives in a persistent tmux session. Reopen the app after closing it or restarting the computer to restore processes, scrollback buffers, and running agents exactly as they were.

Pros

  • A node-based infinite canvas makes multitasking easy to see at a glance, without hunting through stacked tabs
  • Persistent tmux sessions restore exactly as they were after closing the app or restarting the computer
  • RUNNING / NEEDS YOU badges show agent status in real time, and subagents expand automatically
  • Voice is processed locally by on-device Whisper, with end-to-end encryption on the phone relay

FAQ

The website says Claude, Codex, and Gemini can run as live nodes on the canvas; agent status appears in real time through RUNNING / NEEDS YOU badges, and subagents expand on the canvas as they are created.
No. Every terminal runs in a persistent tmux session, so after reopening nodeterm, processes, scrollback buffers, and running agents are restored exactly as they were.
