OpenLogi

Local-first configuration for Logitech mouse buttons, DPI, and SmartShift

Last Updated 11/2/2026

About OpenLogi

OpenLogi is a local-first alternative to Logitech Options+, written in Rust and using HID++ to configure mouse buttons, DPI, and SmartShift. It supports binding built-in actions, custom keyboard shortcuts, application launchers, and script actions for each device, with connections through Logi Bolt, Unifying, or Lightspeed receivers, Bluetooth, or USB. Bindings are stored in a user-owned plain-text TOML file and changes are written directly to the device; the official site also clearly states that no account or telemetry is required.

Best for

Logitech mouse users
Users who need custom buttons and actions
Users who want to keep bindings in a TOML file

Best use cases

Configure physical button actions by device

Set ratchet or free-spin scrolling, or switch automatically based on scroll speed

Connect a mouse through a receiver, Bluetooth, or USB

Maintain portable, manually editable TOML binding files

Compare before choosing

Local configuration file

Bindings are stored in a user-owned plain-text TOML file, and changes are written directly to the device through HID++.

Pros

  • Local-first, with bindings stored in a user-owned file that can be edited manually
  • Supports 44 built-in actions, plus keyboard shortcuts, application launchers, and script actions
  • Supports multiple receivers and direct connection methods

Cons

  • Importing Logitech Options+ configurations is not supported yet; the official site says an importer is in development
  • Logi Options+ must be exited at startup; on Linux, also watch for HID++ control conflicts with Solaar

FAQ

Not yet. The official site says an importer is in development; for now, bindings can be rebuilt from a TOML file.
In-app update checks are disabled by default and can be enabled when needed; new versions come from Homebrew or signed installers on the releases page.
