PDF to MD is an online tool that converts PDFs to Markdown, with results ready to use in note-taking tools like Obsidian and Notion. It offers two conversion modes: local mode completes the conversion in your browser, so files never leave your browser; high-accuracy mode uses cloud OCR, consuming credits per page, and is ideal for scanned documents. Beyond the web app, it also provides a REST API and a remote MCP service, supporting conversions from PDF, DOCX, images, and HTML, as well as Markdown to PDF, all sharing the same account credits as the web app. Free accounts get unlimited local conversions, plus 100 standard cloud conversions per month, 5 pages of OCR after sign-up, and 5 PDF exports per day; for more OCR pages or larger batches, you can upgrade to Pro or purchase an OCR credit pack separately.
