Skyelight
Pin feedback to specific elements on any web page, creating trackable discussion threads that coding agents can act on.
About Skyelight
Skyelight is a web feedback collaboration tool. Users can pin comments to specific elements on any page that opens in a browser—including staging, preview builds, production environments, and internal tools—and each pin opens a discussion thread that can be replied to, assigned, and resolved. Threads record the pinned element, the page URL, the structure, text, and styles around the element (form values are removed in the browser), plus an optional screenshot. With Skyelight Build, threads also carry the source file, line number, commit, and branch behind the element, letting coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and more) open the relevant files via MCP, investigate or fix issues, even open pull requests, and reply directly on the thread—while clients can follow progress through a review badge without installing any extension.
Best for
Best use cases
Customers or non-technical members need to point out bugs, ideas, or feedback directly on a live website
Web feedback needs to be turned into source files and line numbers and handed to coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex to fix
Reviews are run on staging, preview builds, production environments, or internal tools, and reviewers shouldn't have to install an extension
Compare before choosing
Per the official comparison page: BugHerd has no free plan; its Standard plan costs $50/month ($42 billed annually). Skyelight offers a free plan, and Pro costs $29/month and includes your seat.
Per the official comparison page: BugHerd only records an element's CSS selector; Skyelight Build attaches the source file, line number, and commit behind each element to every discussion.
Features
Web element pinning
Pin comments to specific elements on any page that opens in a browser, including staging, preview builds, production environments, and internal tools.
Full discussion threads
Each pin saves the element, page URL, surrounding structure and text, styles, and an optional screenshot. Team members can reply, assign, and resolve.
Source files and line numbers
With Skyelight Build enabled, every discussion carries the source file, line number, and commit behind the element—no more hunting for where to fix things.
Coding agent loop
Hand a thread to a coding agent to investigate, plan, or fix; the agent can open the relevant file, open a pull request, and reply on the thread, so clients see the answer right where they commented.
Review badge
Reviewers can use pinning on preview builds through the review badge without installing anything.
Chrome extension
Teams pin on any page using the Chrome extension; the extension is included in the Free, Pro, and Team plans.
Auto classification and summaries
When pinning, discussions automatically get a suggested and set type (bug, idea, feedback, or a workspace-defined type) and a one-sentence summary; 20 per month on Free, unlimited on Pro and Team.
Privacy by design
The Build plugin makes no network requests—it only adds attributes and a script tag to the build, and code stays local or in CI. The badge script is about 1.5 kB; visitors who aren't reviewing make no requests, and Skyelight receives no information from non-reviewing visitors.
Pros
- Free plan available, and reviewers are free and unlimited on every plan
- Feedback threads can carry the source file, line number, and commit directly, and coding agents can open files and reply on the thread via MCP
- The Build plugin makes no network requests—code stays local or in CI; visitors who aren't reviewing send no data to Skyelight
Cons
- The free plan only includes 20 automatic classifications per month (setting a type for a whole discussion and writing a one-sentence summary); once used up, new discussions created that month no longer get automatic summaries
- On the free plan, coding agents can only publish via MCP—they cannot read discussions or handle feedback; the REST API and the Slack, Linear, and GitHub integrations are also limited to paid plans
