Tiden
Tiden provides intent verification for coding agents: agents write the code, and Tiden verifies through specs and tests that the code actually implements your requirements.
About Tiden
Tiden is an intent verification tool for coding agents. It reads your code, writes a spec for every behavior of your product, and flags entries that are not yet proven by tests; specs are versioned alongside the code. Each coding agent session starts from a valid contract and cannot be closed while commitments remain unfulfilled: product promises such as "the free tier returns 429 when exceeding 60 requests per minute" must be backed by a passing test. Tiden also provides error tracking that maps errors to specific releases, and supports automation via a REST API, CLI, and MCP server. It explicitly supports working with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and Codex.
Best for
Best use cases
Teams that heavily use coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or Codex and need quality checks beyond manual review
Wishing to verify that agent-generated features actually meet requirements before merging
Teams that need error tracking tied to releases and support for API-based automation
Features
Spec versioning and product map
Reads your code and writes a spec for every behavior of your product, flagging entries not yet proven by tests; specs are versioned alongside the code.
Quality gate
Every product commitment is proven by a test, and agent sessions cannot be closed while commitments remain unfulfilled.
Error tracking with release attribution
Provides error tracking and maps errors to specific releases.
REST API and automation
Offers a REST API generated from a gRPC API, with API token support; the CLI, MCP server, CI, and coding agents can handle issue triage without opening a browser.
Compatible with major coding agents
Supports invoking coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, and Codex.
Pros
- Locks in product intent as specs versioned with the code, so agent sessions cannot be closed with unfulfilled commitments
- Verified changes are billed per merged pull request; retries and failures incur no extra charges
- Provides a REST API, CLI, and MCP server, making CI and coding agent automation easy
- Error tracking traceable to specific releases
- SAML SSO on Team and above; SCIM and self-hosted deployment on Enterprise
Cons
- Known product limitations listed in the documentation: the Component CLI branch flag is not yet wired up; per-branch GetComponent is not yet available; Component history is not yet fully symmetric with spec and test history.
