About Humanloop

Humanloop was an enterprise platform for developing and evaluating applications built with large language models. The workspace combined prompt management, a multi-model playground, version tracking, datasets, offline and online evaluators, human review, CI/CD evaluation, tracing, monitoring, logging, alerts, and end-user feedback in one collaborative workspace. Enterprise controls included SSO and SAML, role-based access, regional hosting, service-level agreements, and an optional VPC deployment. The platform has now shut down following the team's move to Anthropic. Billing stopped on July 30, 2025, and the service and account data were scheduled for permanent deletion on September 8, 2025. Humanloop is therefore useful as a reference for its former workflow, but it is no longer a viable choice for a new deployment.

Best for

LLM product teams that needed shared prompt and evaluation workflows
Engineering teams that needed CI/CD checks and production tracing
Enterprises that required SSO, role controls, regional hosting, or VPC deployment

Best use cases

Comparing prompt and model versions against versioned datasets

Adding automated and human evaluation before a release

Tracing production LLM calls and collecting user feedback

Compare before choosing

No longer suitable for adoption because the hosted platform has shut down

Previously combined prompt management, evaluation, and observability in one workspace

Enterprise controls were sales-led and an optional VPC deployment was an add-on

Features

Prompt management and controlled releases

Teams could collaborate on prompts, compare outputs across multiple LLMs, track every version, and publish tagged versions so product and engineering staff worked from the same release history.

Evaluation before and after deployment

Teams could run offline and online evaluators against versioned datasets, combine code or model judges with human review, and connect evaluation reports to CI/CD release checks.

Production tracing and feedback

Operators could inspect LLM traces and logs, monitor live behavior, configure alerts, and connect end-user feedback with the prompt and model versions that produced each response.

Pros

  • Combined prompt management, evaluation, and observability in one workflow.
  • Supported enterprise controls including SSO, role permissions, regional hosting, and optional VPC deployment.
  • Included automated evaluators, human review, and CI/CD integration for release checks.

Cons

  • The platform has shut down, so teams cannot adopt it for a new production deployment.
  • Former trial limits of 2 members, 50 evaluation runs, and 10,000 monthly logs constrained meaningful team testing.
  • Enterprise deployment and support required a sales conversation, while VPC deployment was an add-on.
